Help for the 'Third Party'

“We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey

that no one can take for us or spare us.”  - Marcel Proust

Since our society sees affairs as taboo, as the affair partner you’re the easy scapegoat on which blame and responsibility too often gets placed.

This blame is unfair. The finger pointing is a misguided oversimplification of what is always a much more complex road to how you became involved with someone married. Meanwhile, you’re caught in just as much uncertainty, limbo, and pain as everyone else affected by the affair.

The “affair partner” or “third party” gets no empathy or passes. But you’re struggling, too. You’re reconciling promises, compromising your wants and needs, and are just as tense with the secrets and evasion that comes with the territory.

Being an affair partner can take a toll. And where do you turn for relief, help, or support? Sympathy is scarce, and actual knowledge and guidance is even scarcer. Our work together can help you get the insight and help you need to deal with your challenging role.
